Vaccines Pt 2.. Even More THAT Mom

You may or may not have already read my first vaccine post. If you haven’t, I wrote it right after Stella was born about my view point/decisions on childhood vaccines and how I would proceed with her. I drew my conclusions based on 3 books I read on the topic. The three books were The Vaccine Book by Robert Sears, The Vaccine Friendly Plan by Dr. Paul Thomas and Dr. Jennifer Margulis, and What Your Children’s Doctor May Not Tell You About Children’s Vaccines by Dr. Stephanie Cave. My conclusion was basically that I would get my children some vaccines, but not all. I would wait until they were a year old to start vaccines, and I would space them out never getting more than one at a time. Well, now my children are (almost) two and three and still don’t have any so I figured I better update and explain my new stance.
When Stella was born and I denied the Hep B vaccine I was fully prepared to be lectured and brow beaten by the NICU doctor. Even her nurse told me to expect it, but the doctor came in and simply asked, “so you’d like to deny the Hep B Vaccine?” To which I answered yes, she signed the form, and that was that. The nurse she had later that day came in and said to me in a hushed tone, “I would never tell any of my coworkers this but I am so glad you denied the Hepatitis B Vaccine. It’s awful they give that to such tiny baby’s who don’t need it.” I was already confident in my decision, but this certainly erased any trace of doubt I had.
I knew I wanted to wait a year to start any vaccines because we don’t know any family history on her paternal grandfathers side and The Vaccine Friendly Plan recommends delaying vaccines until then if there is a history of certain diseases in the family. One day I was talking to a friend of mine who had decided not to vax about my decision and about the books I read to form my opinion. I was shocked to find out she knew Robert Sears personally (first of all so cool I read almost all of his parenting books and live by them) and none of his children are vaccinated. I was so confused, I’d just read a book that I took to recommend certain vaccines but he denied all of them??? She explained that the book was more of a “if you’re going to, here’s how to do it” guide and not a “what you should do” guide. She also told me that she had a pediatrician who told her that the blood brain barrier did not completely close until two so if you were going to get any vaccines you should wait until your child is two. I was totally thrown off and decided I would wait until Stella was two and do further research then before getting any vaccines.
Before Stella turned two, I found out that Dr. Paul Thomas, who’d written The Vaccine Friendly Plan, is very clear that he would not vaccinate his family and he very strongly believes in a link between autism and the MMR vaccine. Dr. Paul does vaccinate in his practice, as he advocates for informed consent and doing what the patients parents want, but he has drawn his conclusion based on anecdotal evidence from his wide variety of patience. Now 2/3 doctors I’d formed my opinion on a delayed schedule around are against vaccinations when it comes to their own families. I tried to look up if Dr. Stephanie Cave had changed her thinking since the publication of her book in 2010 but only found an article about her theory on the link between mercury in vaccines and autism from 2000.
When Elliot was born, I denied the Hepatitis B Vaccine, eye ointment, and vitamin K. Again, my nurse said to me she was so relieved I denied the Hep B vaccine and actually told me she was against vaccines completely. Before we were released his pediatrician came in to talk to us. I braced myself for the vaccine lecture. She told me she didn’t care if I didn’t vaccinate, she thought that was fine, but she was concerned about my denying of vitamin K. She told me that she works at a hospital in Columbus and children a year old were coming in with brain bleeds and the only commonality they found in them was none of them had vitamin K at birth. I wasn’t convinced since the entire point of vitamin K is so they can circumcise your baby (another barbaric thing only meant for profit but that’s for another blog post….) and they won’t bleed out. Vitamin K builds up on its own at a week old. My husband was totally freaked out, so I agreed to a preservative free vitamin K shot. The insert says to give it subcutaneously so I asked for that. The nurse told me she didn’t know how to do that and could only do it intravenously. I told her it was fine, but I still regret giving into the shot and administering it that way so easily without more research and at least insisting on it being given correctly.
The more “crunchy mom” friends I made, the more I realized how common denying vaccines were. Some of them were unvaxed themselves, some of them just chose that for their children. Two of them are former nurses. Two of these moms had children who had adverse effects from vaccines. All of my non vaccinated friends children’s are ill less frequently than my vaccinated friends children. One who vaccinated her first 4 kids but didn’t finish vaccinating the 4th and didn’t vaccinate the 5th at all swears her 5th is much healthier and has a much stronger immune system than any of her vaccinated kids. That 5th kid also had whooping cough at under a year and was fine. Very few of my unvaccinated friend’s children have had ear infections, mine have never had any. Almost all of my friends with vaccinated children have suffered multiple ear infections. My anecdotal evidence is on my side.
One of those moms told me this terrifying story. When her first son was born in the hospital she denied all vaccines. After his birth, in the following days, the nurse came in and said she was taking him for a hearing test. He was gone for hours and every time my friend asked the nurse said he was asleep and the doctor hadn’t done the test yet. Finally she brought him back. Upon getting home from the hospital the baby was inconsolable and something was obviously wrong. She took the baby to the pediatrician and he asked if the baby had the Hep B vaccine and my friend told the doctor no. He said what he was exhibiting were symptoms of brain swelling caused by the Hep B vaccine, but that couldn’t be it since he wasn’t vaccinated. Luckily, the baby ended up being fine but my friend and the doctor never knew what happened. Years later, my friend was in a moms group and the nurse who’d taken care of her baby in the hospital was there. She had a photo of the nurse and baby from his first bath so she knew it was the same nurse. She overheard the nurse telling someone how when mothers denied the Heo B vaccine she would tell the mother she was taking the baby for a hearing test, give them the vaccine, then keep them until the bleeding stopped before returning them to the mother who never knew. She no longer worked in a hospital (thank God) so my friend didn’t pursue a lawsuit but as I was pregnant with Elliot at the time, I made damn sure Jakob knew Elliot was NEVER to be out of his or I’s site while we were at the hospital after his birth.
Another friend of mine, whose mother gave her some vaccines but not all, decided to follow the same protocol with her child. Every time her child got a vaccine, she’d come home lethargic and generally unwell with a fever and rash. She’d go back to the doctor and the doctor would gaslight her saying that it wasn’t from the vaccine, and if it was that was normal and nothing to be concerned about. Finally enough was enough and she quit vaccinating.
While I was pregnant with Elliot I watched Candace Owens A Shot In the Dark. It was a while ago that I watched it so I can’t verbatim tell you what was in it, but she went through the inserts reading the (disturbing) ingredients and KNOWN side effects.
There’s evidence to show that there is a link between the increase in food allergies in our children and vaccines. (https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=3571073) Vaccines do cause increased ear infections, just google it it’s irresputable. Vaccines are linked to developmental delays. Vaccines cause asthma. (Analysis of health outcomes in vaccinated and unvaccinated children: Developmental delays, asthma, ear infections and gastrointestinal disorders - Brian S Hooker, Neil Z Miller, 2020 ) I don’t have any research on this but I wouldn’t be surprised if a contributing factor to the increased number of trans kids we have is due to the fetal cells in these vaccines. If you’re a boy and you’re injected with female fetus cells, or visa versa, through a vaccine how would that affect you? And this is just the tip of the iceberg.
Vaccines prevent illnesses that would build your child’s immunity. In turn, they cause diseases your child will be affected by for the rest of their lives. I used to be afraid of my decision. I used to worry that I would regret it, but after everything I’ve read and all my eyes have been opened to I feel confident that the only regret I would have would be filling my children with poison willy-nilly to avoid a week or two of discomfort.
I still wouldn’t say I’m 100% “anti-vax.” Once we start traveling out of the country with the kids, if we’re going to places where the worst of these illnesses are not eradicated and there’s not modern day doctors to treat said illnesses I may consider getting my children some. I’m hoping my children get chicken pox, but if they haven’t gotten it by puberty I may consider the vaccine because in rare cases chicken pox can cause infertility in men and it’s dangerous to pregnant women and their unborn baby’s. (Are those “facts” just fear mongering I’ve believed? Possibly…) These are both things I will have to do more research into in the future.
I haven’t deleted my first blog post on vaccines because it still does have very relevant information. I detail all of the (listed) ingredients and why they’re concerning along with information about the disease itself. I would encourage you to go read it. If you’ve already started vaccinating your child and are now having second thoughts, it’s not too late to stop and don’t feel bad about what you didn’t know. If you think I’m crazy and endangering my children? You can think what you want I know you’re wrong. Big pharma and the government has worked very hard to coverup how dangerous these vaccines are. Don’t you think it’s a little sketchy that you can’t sue a vaccine company for an adverse side effect? They’ve done a good job, but luckily many people are starting to see through their lies. I’m so thankful that I have. Even my liberal friend who is very pro vaccine agrees that they have negative side affects and need to be made better, she just feels that the whole (herd immunity) is more important than the health of an individual. I don’t think she’d say the same thing if she had any kids of her own.
If you don’t think I’m totally crazy and want to be along for the ride, you know until I get “cancelled” during a “fact check” to “protect” society from the spreading of propaganda, scroll to the bottom of the Home Screen to subscribe. I guarantee there’ll be a part three to the vaccine series eventually because there’s a book and a podcast on vaccines on my list of things to read/listen to.
